My first furry costume. The idea for this costume started a long time back as a possible LARP costume, something light that fit right but still looked good. I mostly lost intrest in the whole LARP thing but the costume concept remained. It's not really a character in it's own right, it's more like me in a more vulpine form. I never officially gave it a name but as I was working on it I felt like calling it "The Rico Project". Just felt like a Rico, why not.

It's a form fitting design (obvoiusly). With the exception of the chest, which has a foam insert to give it an animal like barreled shape, the body's a skinsuit. The mask also fits close, the eyes are my eyes (with a little greasepaint), the mouth opens and the hair is my hair. Truth, I took advantage of my own natural auburn mane and made the mask a convertable, except I can't convert it, so I guess it's just a hole in the top, really, umm...

It did take a few trys to dye the fabric to match my hair.

The gloves came out great. I could pick up a quarter off a flat surface with those paws, they were excellent (I've put plans for them up). The rest of the design wasn't perfect but I really think I'm on to something with the concept. That's why I disassembled this suit not too long ago for parts and plan to remake it.

It was a real kick to wear it that Halloween I did. Got compliments, even if I was mistaken for a dog or wolf half the time. Acted silly and barked at people, including one who engaged in a minuite long growl and snarl match (???). Even ate a chicken sandwich while wearing the thing.

Yeah, definitely going to make this one again.
