Start/finish: 1999
Main materials: foam, hologram finish vinyl, pleather, spandex, beads, synth fabrics, plastic fake stones.
Pieces: 6 2 Shoes, 2 gloves mask and suit.
Wear: Fits well and not too cumbersome or uncomfortabe but the mask is pretty stuffy and it gets hot under all that plastic and foam, especially in the sun.

I think it might have been a piece of 60's artwork
that inspired me first, Peter Max or maybe a
Grateful Dead cover I saw. I can't remember really.
In the course of the creative process it evolved into
this somehow but it still has a certain acid generation
aesthetic to it. It's a combination of jester with freak-
out hallucination motif. Pink elephant and swirl bug
eyes. That thing on the chest is a shroom, though if I'd
put a little more thought into the way I stacked the
colors it'd be easier to tell. It even has tyedye bits
round the cuffs and collars.
It's probably my best costume to date even though
it was only my second. I mean I've done some other
good stuff but this sets the high water mark for a while
to come. It also seems to startle and awe people
quite well.
It's also my first jester costume but it won't be my last.
I rather like the whole creepy clown/jester thing and I
can get a lot of variation on theme. It's also very
effective because clowns give so many people the willies.
By the way the stuff on the back of the mask is:
7 bells (two with clappers).
2 tan and red sculpy mushrooms.
2 miniature plastic liquor bottles, formerly fridge magnets.
A plastic scorpion.
A shark tooth
A wooden letter "Q"
A brass disk with a picture of a queen (possibly)
A small rubber bat.
