Thanks for checking out my promotional site. As the title says I'm a freelance illustrator. My prime style is realist/surrealist and I use the mediums of ink, paint (acrylic mostly), pencil and just a little computer manipulation to hone my work to a perfect edge. I work out of the New York metro area and have sufficient computer equipment, access and skills to get my work just about anywhere in digital form. I do highly detailed work, especially when I paint, but can still produce work at a moderate pace.
I have a good mind for the bizarre and would like to do some work in the fiction/fantasy/SF/RPG area. Pop culture's also a lot of fun but in the end it dosn't matter, pulling pictures out of blank paper is always a fulfilling experience and yes, my realist stylings may be connected with a "grittiness" and serious feel in my work but I can be pretty cheery in the right circumstances.
As of now, that is, July of 2002, I'm only lightly experienced in the realm of published materials. I was trained at the School of Visual Arts, was near or at the top of my classes and was very good with deadlines despite often having 5 projects of various types per week (lost a few nights of sleep though). I've also sold a few commissions, had pieces in an art/illustration expo or two and have done a few flyers and illustrations for local zines and newspapers (yes, some of it paid).
