Back around '98/'99 I did illustrations for The Hunter Envoy, CUNY Hunter College's semi-weekly newspaper. I also did a series of mediocre comic strips in that time called "Broken Token".
The Envoy steered way to the left, more than any other college newspaper in the CUNY system, or so I heard. It was a righteous rag for the angry young man/woman protesting type crowd and it was loaded with political commentary and coverage that spanned well out of college and city life (often aquired from other periodicals though). With the flow I gave My comic an occasional political theme, a couple of insider jokes for New Yorkers or Hunter students and a cast of quirky through bizzarre characters of all types.
In other words I ripped off Bloom County some and ran for the border.
I drew the comics with ball points and markers (ahh, simpler times) but all of the lettering and graphic design, by which I mean photoshopping with varoius levels of skill and enthusiasm, was done by other people.
The comics are in chronological order as best as I can tell. I'll scan the rest as soon as I find them.
